Exclusive: Csézy speaks to ESC Hungary

Csézy won the Hungarian National Final on February 8 with the right to represent Hungary in Belgrade on the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 22 and we hope to be in the final on May 24 too.

ESC Hungary: You attended to the first edition of Megasztár (Pop Idol). The jury didn't select you to the competition because of your "over educated" voice. What way did you go on?

Csézy: Yes, I was studying as a singer in the music art department of Bartók Béla Institute of University of Miskolc that time. Actually, I was entered to Megasztár by my friends and I thought "Why not?" It would be a good practice to try out my skills. I was in front of the jury 10 minutes long and sang 3 songs. They were puzzled. I travelled home and carried on with my studies. The casting of Megasztár was just one period of my life that I passed on.

ESC Hungary: When did you start to prepare your album called 'Szívverés'?

Csézy: As a newcomer we worked hard for 2 years to start the project. We had to build up everything: who I will sing for, what I want to transmit to the people and how should be my appearance.

ESC Hungary: All members of the group that made your album are high-class professionals!

Csézy. Yes, they are! I started everything with my boyfriend, he helped me a lot. I think that a production could work well, if we have a perfect teamwork with authors, composers, musicians and the managemant. Everyone's work is needed well equally..

ESC Hungary: Who had the idea to enter the selection for Eurovision?

Csézy: It was a plan from the beginning. We thought that if there is such a possibility, we will have to apply for it!

ESC Hungary: Do you have a favorite ESC song?

Csézy: Yes, I like 'Molitva' very much. It is really a lyric song that can touch my soul.

ESC Hungary: When will you have your costume made for ESC? When could we see it?

Csézy: We are just planning and trying it but as soon as it is ready, I will send you a photo about it!

ESC Hungary: Have you any expectation to a promotion tour abroad in the near future?

Csézy: I got an invitation to Hamburg from the European director of Warner Music. They organized a "Csézy night" for the people working in the music industry (The event will be in these days - by the editor). According to the Hungarian director of Warner, it has never happened with a Hungarian singer yet. It is a big chance to me, a great thing and a very good feeling to be selected.

ESC Hungary: We keep our fingers crossed in front of the TV, on the square of Belgrade and even in the Arena! Good luck!

Február 8-án a magyar nemzeti döntőn Csézy az előkelő első helyen végzett, megszerezve ezzel a jogot, hogy hazánkat képviselje május 22-én Belgrádban az ESC színpadán és reméljük, hogy tovább jut a 24-én este tartandó döntőbe is.

ESC Hungary: A Megasztár első szériájába is jelentkeztél! Akkor a zsűri a túl képzett hangodra hivatkozva nem válogatott be a műsorba, milyen úton indultál tovább?

Csézy: Igen, én akkor már tanultam. A miskolci Bartók Béla Zeneművészeti Karon voltam magánének szakos. A Megasztárba valójában a barátaim neveztek be, én pedig úgy gondoltam, miért ne, elmegyek és megmérettetem magam. 10 percig voltam bent, elénekeltem 3 dalt. Tanácstalanok voltak. Hazajöttem, és folytattam a tanulmányaimat. A Megasztár előválogatója csak egy állomás volt, amin túl is léptem.

ESC Hungary: Mikor kezdtétek a Szívverés című albumot készíteni?

Csézy: Mivel új előadó voltam ezért egy alapos előmunka folyt, ami két évet vett igénybe. Fel kellett építeni, hogy kinek szólok, mit akarok közvetíteni az embereknek, hogy nézzek ki.

ESC Hungary: Az albumon közreműködő csapat tagjai mind kiváló szakemberek!

Csézy: Igen, valóban profi a csapat! A kedvesemmel, kezdtük el, Ő segített! Úgy érzem, hogy akkor működhet jól egy produkció, ha igazi team munka folyik, értem ez alatt a szövegírókat, zeneszerzőket, zenészeket, menedzsmentet. Mindenki munkájára egyformán nagy szükség van!

ESC Hungary: Kinek az ötlete volt, hogy benevezz a hazai Eurovíziós válogatóra?

Csézy: Ez tervben volt a kezdetektől. Arra gondoltunk, ha lesz egy ilyen lehetőség, akkor mindenféleképpen elindulunk!

ESC Hungary: Van kedvenc ESC dalod?

Csézy: Igen, a Molitva-t nagyon szeretem. A Molitva című dal megérint, egy igazi lírai dal.

ESC Hungary: Mikorra készül el a fellépő ruhád? Mikor láthatjuk?

Csézy: Egyelőre még csak próbáljuk, tervezzük, de amint kész lesz, küldök róla egy fotót!

ESC Hungary: Várható-e közel jövőben, hogy külföldön népszerűsítő turnéra indulsz?

Csézy: Hamburgba kaptam egy meghívást a Warner Music európai igazgatójától,. Több egyeztetést követően a megszervezték a Csézy estet az ottani szakmának. A magyarországi Warner Music igazgatója szerint ilyen még nem fordult elő hazai előadóval.

Nagy lehetőségnek tartom, óriási dolog és nagyon jó érzés, hogy engem választottak.
